INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

Sometimes issues from our past, or disturbances of mood and behavior, keep us from living fully in the present. Individual therapy can give you the quiet and space to understand the forces that are causing you difficulty and decide how to change them. As a psychiatrist, I can also prescribe medication when appropriate.  I prescribe medications only  for patients also in therapy with me.

Common issues which respond to psychotherapy include:

  • anxiety
  • depression
  • attention deficit disorder (ADD)
  • choosing a life direction or purpose
  • coming out
  • work-life balance
  • midlife uncertainty
  • retirement
  • aging
  • grief
  • caregiving issues
